NAS power-cost calculator
What do your drives cost to run? Enter your electricity price and roughly how long the array is busy each day.
Watts are estimates from each drive's RPM, not measured figures - override with the datasheet for accuracy. Price is in your local currency.

Why it matters
Over a drive's life, electricity can rival its purchase price - especially with many bays, high-RPM enterprise drives, or pricey power. Two practical levers: spin down or schedule the array when idle (cuts the idle hours), and prefer lower-RPM CMR drives where performance allows. Compare drives by purchase price in the main table and by capacity value with the RAID calculator.
